Energiekontor Group plans and implements wind farms in Germany (on- and offshore), Portugal and the UK. With over 20 years of experience the company is one of the pioneers in the sector.
The core competences of the Energiekontor Group include the planning,
financing, implementation and management of wind farms. By the end of 2011, the
company had planned and installed wind turbines with a total rated capacity of
approximately 520 MW in 79 wind farms in Germany,
the UK and Portugal. The total investment
volume for these wind farms is over 760 million euros. The Group has acquired a
number of good wind sites in all three countries for future projects.
As well as the projects planned on land, employees at the company are
also preparing two major projects in the North Sea
off the German coast. The first of these will comprise 18 turbines in the
Nordergründe nearshore farm in the Weser estuary.
All the contracts for the technical implementation of this approved wind farm
have already been agreed. Commissioning is planned for 2013. One further
project is planned at the Borkum Riffgrund West site. Here 43 wind
turbines will be constructed in an expansion phase.
As an independent, medium-sized electricity producer, the Energiekontor
Group has also been operating its own wind farms for a few years now. Over 110
megawatts (MW) are currently operational at 17 sites in Germany and Portugal.
Energiekontor AG manages both the Group’s own wind farms and those constructed for
third parties. This includes 24-hour remote maintenance 365 days a year, as
well as measures for technical optimization.
Energiekontor was
founded in 1990 in Bremerhaven by Dr Bodo
Wilkens and Günter Lammers, now both
members of the Supervisory Board. The company currently has a staff of about 85
employees.
