Concentrating on renewable energy sources such as wind and the sea has established IMO Energy in a future-oriented market. IMO Energy was the first slewing ring company to specialise in the design of slewing rings for the renewable energy sector. IMO Energy is one of the leading suppliers for blade and yaw bearings with diameters up to 5,200 mm for onshore and offshore wind turbines from 100 kW up to 6.5⁺ MW. Furthermore, IMO Energy slewing rings are used as single main bearings for shaft- and gearless wind turbines.

IMO Energy slewing rings have also been used as blade bearings in the world's first commercial tidal stream system, which is located in the rough Irish Sea at a water depth of 20 m and expose the slewing rings to extreme pressure and environmental conditions.

The German company has specialised in the design, manufacture and supply of slewing rings and self-contained slew drives for over 20 years and has won several awards: IMO is among „Europe’s 500“, the fastest growing companies in Europe, and in 2007 was awarded Bavaria’s „Top 50“ for the third time.
