KEMA Group

KEMA N.V. (short: KEMA) is an international independent consultancy firm. It was originally established in 1927 as a testing and certification body, as well as a research and development centre for the energy sector. Over the last 80 years it has developed into one of the largest consultancies working in this field world-wide. Services comprise technical advice to engineering companies, process and IT advice, as well as management support. KEMA also specialises in the measurement, testing and certification of electrotechnical installations and devices. KEMA is independent of manufacturers and suppliers and exclusively provides customer-oriented solutions and services.

KEMA has a workforce of more than 1700 with offices in the USA, Canada, Columbia, Brazil, Australia, the Far East and Europe. German offices are in Bonn and Dresden.

KEMA in Dresden

Dresden-based KEMA-IEV Ingenieurunternehmen für Energieversorgung GmbH (KEMA-IEV) is an independent engineering company specializing in the field of energy supply. Founded in Dresden in 1963 it became part of the KEMA group in 1994. As a consultancy KEMA-IEV has considerable technical know-how, with more than 85 staff providing consultancy, concept development, planning from basic initial assessment to construction monitoring, operational optimization, and plant assessment, including project management for energy plants.

Specific services range from grid studies to the conception of grids and protection, plant diagnosis, damage reports, warranty measurements, specification tests and commissioning tests. KEMA has extensive commercial and technological experience in transmission and distribution grids which it has successfully transferred to on- and offshore wind farm projects.
