Solutions for Wind Turbines: absolute encoders in pitch-system, speed measurement of rotor and generator shafts, rotor positioning, technology for the Wind Industry
Absolute encoders in a pitch system
AS safety-relevant components, the measuring systems for pitch regulation must work reliably and precisely at all times. No matter where and when.
Encoders of the Sendix series set standards when it comes to safety, precision and robustness – whether in the drive or as an individual measuring system in wind energy plant.
Speed measurement of rotor- and generator shafts
The exact speed information is an important measurand for the control circuit of a wind energy plant. In this application the measuring systems are exposed to harsh environments, but must not lose any of their reliability. Even high vibrations or extreme temperature change are sustained by the Kübler incremental encoders without problems. The wide range of attachment options ensure a simple as well as safe installation.
Determination of rotor postion
Encoders with serial or BUS interfaces are incorporated into the slip ring and determine the rotor position. Additional incremental outputs can be used parallel to monitor the rotor speed. Two functions in one compact encoder housing.
Technologies for the wind industry
Kübler products benefit from 50 years experience in automation engineering. Over the years they have undergone ongoing development and been optimized for use in drives, in outdoor and offshore applications and not least wind energy plants. Housing materials for use in offshore-applications, a working temperature range from -40 to +90°C, the robust bearing setup with Safety Lock design and many additional features should be highlighted.
