More movement for wind energy

The Drive Technology Division of SSB-Antriebstechnik GmbH & Co. KG, Salzbergen split off from the company in July 2009 and now operates as an independent company under the name SSB Duradrive GmbH.

SSB Duradrive offers its customers a comprehensive service in the field of individual drive solutions in the performance range 0.1 to 2500 kW. By designing, developing and producing highly specific solutions for machines used, for instance, in the food, packaging, printing, paper, plastic and rubber as well as textile industry, the company aims to open up new growth segments for specialised drive solutions. The range of motor technology products offered by SSB Duradrive ranges from asynchronous motors, asynchronous servo motors, synchronous motors, synchronous servo motors up to versatile and variable DC motors. The drive systems offered by the company cover any type of gear systems (spur, worm, bevel, planetary and cycloid gears) as well as associated converter and control technologies.

Wealth of experience

SSB Duradrive offers a rich wealth of experience and thus a broad range of know-how in the wind energy sector. This is due to over 10 years of continuous joint development work with SSB Wind Systems, a company of the SSB group, specializing in systems for pitch drives, turbine control and regulating systems as well as the visualisation and optimisation of WTGS. SSB Duradrive is a reliable partner for all areas of drive technology.  The range of services offered by SSB Duradrive consequently extends from offering qualified advice, development and production up to quality management and technical service. All motors and drive systems are subjected to extensive load tests in-house, ensuring that the respective high-quality solution actually meets the requirements of its practical application.

Diversified portfolio

The range of products includes yaw drives with and without gearbox, rotor lock drives as well as drive solutions for electromechanical rotor brakes. Complete synchronous and asynchronous generators for WTGS up to an output of 2.5 MW are also part of the extensive range of products on offer.

A particular advantage offered by generators of SSB Duradrive is their high degree of reliability and long service life, not least achieved by the use of the latest VPI insulation technology and new magnet technologies.
